AKIS in action – Strengthening AKIS through women-led innovation

Online Veranstaltung
10:00 - 11:30

Women are one of the driving forces in agriculture. Supporting women in rural areas is a political priority, as they make a decisive contribution to sustainable development. Studies show that young, well-educated women leave their home regions due to a lack of prospects, which leads to a ‘brain drain’ and imbalances. Their return is often hampered by a lack of employment and social integration. In addition, entrenched gender norms hinder women‘s access to education, resources and networks. This also makes economic participation and the empowerment of women more difficult.
In order to meet these structural challenges, gender norms must be transformed, and educational and networking opportunities for women need to be enhanced. AKIS measures focus on the involvement of women in agricultural policy processes and promote their potential in rural development, thereby actively contributing to strengthening social cohesion and new business areas.

This event is a Networking Event by FLIARA & modernAKIS. Women are one of the driving forces in agriculture and make a crucial contribution to sustainable development.

Case studies from FLIARA in Ireland and Spain will showcase how AKIS supports female entrepreneurship in agriculture and rural communities. The Austrian ZAMm unterwegs project (Together on the way) showcases a model for training female leaders and change-makers in systemic transformation.

This event is for you if you’re passionate about a sustainable agricultural sector, seek inspiration as a woman in agriculture, want to learn about innovations, or connect with a dedicated network.
